Forty years in the studio
Journey
Working on my own account since 1982, I practised for more than thirty-five years in the Cotentin, in Normandy, before settling in Brittany in 2018.
-
1982 · The cider jug
From the earliest years I specialised in making the pot cochon, a traditional Norman jug for serving cider. Deeply rooted in local heritage, this work accompanied my entire career as a potter.
-
1990 · The roof finials
I began creating stoneware roof finials, architectural features of Norman houses. Made by hand, these pieces gradually took an important place in my work.
-
2002 · The Goubelin
Then came the Goubelin, a character from the popular traditions of the Cotentin. Inspired by local folklore, this series of figurines found a wide audience and became one of the mainstays of my production.
-
2018 · Brittany and sculpture
After settling in Brittany, my work moved towards a practice devoted almost entirely to sculpture. My creations now draw on Norse and Celtic myths, on symbolic wildlife and on our collective imagination.
-
Today · A personal practice
Passionate about history, archaeology and our distant origins, about ancient DNA — that is where I find my inspiration. I no longer work to order: the creations shown on this site are the fruit of personal work.
Le pot cochon, l'épi de faîtage, le Goubelin : c'est en Normandie que tout a commencé.
